About Damian Buchman

“I have been afforded two lives.”

As a child, Damian seemed destined for a life in sports. But then then he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in his right leg. It returned with a vengeance in his left leg. The odds were overwhelmingly against him, but he lived.

Today, 34 years later, Damian is a husband, a father of three adopted boys, a businessman, a community leader and an adaptive athlete. He hasn’t been sidelined by his disABILITY, and he knows a lot of people aren’t as lucky.

That’s why The Ability Center is building the country’s the first universally inclusive community recreation destination.

We’re transforming Moss Universal Park … and it’s just the
beginning. Because a park is more than just a playground, and everyBODY, regardless of age or ability, deserves to play TOGETHER.
