As a child, Damian seemed destined for a life in sports. But then then he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in his right leg. It returned with a vengeance in his left leg. The odds were overwhelmingly against him, but he lived.
Today, 34 years later, Damian is a husband, a father of three adopted boys, a businessman, a community leader and an adaptive athlete. He hasn’t been sidelined by his disABILITY, and he knows a lot of people aren’t as lucky.
That’s why The Ability Center is building the country’s the first universally inclusive community recreation destination.
We’re transforming Moss Universal Park … and it’s just the beginning. Because a park is more than just a playground, and everyBODY, regardless of age or ability, deserves to play TOGETHER.
By partnering with community-based nonprofits, industry leaders and parks and recreation professionals, we’re able to create play opportunities for people of all ages and abilities.
Our Mission
To provide people impacted by disabilities with a daily opportunity to be fit, active, healthy, and to play.
